What are cafe blinds?
Cafe blinds are outdoor roller blinds made from clear PVC, mesh or canvas that attach to the posts, beams, or fascia of your alfresco, patio, or outdoor entertaining area. Originally used in commercial hospitality venues to protect diners from wind, sun, and light rain, cafe blinds have become a popular residential outdoor blind solution in Adelaide.

Options to compare
Clear PVC
A popular choice for Adelaide homes. Lets you see through the blind while blocking wind and protecting your outdoor area from light rain. Available as standard clear, tinted (grey or bronze, for extra UV and glare reduction) or other PVC options to suit the application. PVC thickness alone is not a wind rating.
Mesh or screen fabric
Filters sunlight while keeping some outward visibility. The openness of the fabric changes the amount of light and view.
Canvas or opaque fabric
A more traditional, aesthetic look suited to period homes and upmarket alfresco areas, in a wide range of acrylic canvas colours. Canvas can suit Adelaide’s climate. Weather resistance depends on the fabric and how the blind is used.

Is a cafe blind right for your opening?
Cafe blinds may suit a home alfresco area, a verandah or a hospitality terrace. The frame, span and exposure to weather matter. A consultant can explain whether a straight-drop blind or a track-guided product is the better fit for your opening.
Outdoor blinds are not storm enclosures. Follow the operating instructions for the selected system and retract before strong winds or storms when safe to do so.
