Crimsafe security doors on an Adelaide home

Crimsafe security doors Adelaide

Feel safe & secure in your home

Live Comfortably.

Stay safe from intruders while keeping bugs and insects at bay, with our range of custom-made Crimsafe screen doors and windows.

Crimsafe uses Structural Grade 304 Stainless Steel Mesh, which is held in place with a patented Screw-Clamp Locking System. The design provides such enormous strength against attack, by spreading the load around the frame of the door, allowing you to feel safe while your solid doors or glass windows are open when home. Most of our customers choose Crimsafe security screens because they look great on both modern and traditional homes – or when they have large doors to outdoor entertaining areas, which would be ruined by traditional grille-style screen doors. Additionally, the Tensile-Tuff mesh security screen doors provide unhindered views while letting in fresh air and natural light, giving you security and comfort for your home and lifestyle needs.

If it’s not Crimsafe, it’s not crim-safe!

Crimsafe is a security product. BEWARE – when others say their product is ‘the same as Crimsafe’ – it is not. Examine the cross-section of a Crimsafe security screen and competitor product and you’ll see the advantage of the design. With its newly engineered frame, superior strength, and proven ability to withstand tremendous force, Crimsafe is built to resist forced entry.

The screws pass through the mesh and into the other side of the frame so the screw-clamp bites down on the mesh. That grip is designed to resist impact. It does not guarantee that every attempt fails. Specialised tools may still damage the mesh.

But don’t just take our word for it. Crimsafe, and many of its competitors, have been rigorously, independently tested – showing how Crimsafe performs among stainless steel security screens. Crimsafe doors, including the Crimsafe Ultimate, are also used to help protect your family and to suit the look of your doors and windows, with cleaner lines and architectural styling.

Crimsafe for doors and windows

The Crimsafe system is available in a number of different security products, including hinged doors, sliding doors, window screens, and fire attenuation screens. Whether you are securing your doors or your windows, Crimsafe offers a flexible range of products designed to suit your specific needs. Each product, from mesh security screen doors to fire attenuation screens, is designed to resist forced entry and meet the demands of the Australian market. For a door that is not Crimsafe, see our security doors.

The Crimsafe difference

High level security

Modern design

Latest technology

Tensile-Tuff® mesh

The heart of every Crimsafe Ultimate and Classic screen is our exclusive Tensile-Tuff mesh, made from 0.9mm 304 structural-grade stainless steel. At 0.9 mm, this wire is 12.5% larger in diameter than a 0.8 mm wire. The mesh is designed to resist cutting, impact and corrosion. Specialised tools may still damage it. With the added strength of Crimsafe Classic and Crimsafe Ultimate, you can enjoy unhindered views without compromising your safety.

Screw-Clamp™ technology

Our patented Screw-Clamp system securely fastens the Tensile-Tuff mesh to the frame with a vice-like grip. Screw-Clamp evenly disperses any impact force around the frame, unlike competitor screens where the mesh is wedged or glued in. The screw-clamp is designed to hold the mesh in the frame. That hold is not guaranteed protection, and a pet-door opening changes the assembly.

Tamper-resistant screws

We use unique tamper-resistant screws in our Screw-Clamp system. These screws are specially engineered to prevent removal with standard tools an intruder might have. Even if a potential burglar can access the frame, they won’t be able to unscrew the clamps and remove the mesh. It’s an added layer of security to keep your family safe.

Free measure and quote

To ensure your Crimsafe security doors and windows fit perfectly and meet your exact needs, we offer a free measure and quote service. This ensures the screens are made to suit your doors, windows, and lifestyle.

Crimsafe security doors across Adelaide

When it comes to security, choose Crimsafe for a product that has been rigorously tested to suit Australian homes. Crimsafe security doors are available from Stan Bond across Adelaide and South Australia.

Crimsafe Ultimate Design View

The latest Crimsafe product on the market, Crimsafe Classic. Get the strength of Crimsafe to protect your home and family without breaking the bank. Its new design with square framing and sleek lines suits both modern and traditional homes, allowing your security to be a feature of the home, not an eyesore.

Crimsafe Classic offers the proven strength of Crimsafe, with smoother, cleaner lines. Using the exclusive CF6 Screw-Clamp system, the clamp bites down on the stainless steel mesh with a vice like grip.

Crimsafe Classic can withstand an impact five times stronger than the level required by the Australian Standard.

Be assured with Crimsafe Classic’s strength, that you don’t need to compromise on aesthetics. Crimsafe Classic has a newly engineered frame with no visible screws from the inside or out. Available in a range of standard neutral colours and timber-look frames, Crimsafe can also be powder coated to a selected colour to suit your home. Ask about current finish options and care requirements.

Crimsafe Classic is suitable for hinged doors, sliding doors, stacking doors, french doors and fixed windows.

Crimsafe Ultimate is the next evolution of security screen technology, combining greater strength with a sleek modern aesthetic.

This high level Crimsafe security screen can withstand an impact up to seven times stronger than the level required by the Australian standard and 40% stronger than the regular Crimsafe product.

The key Crimsafe Ultimate difference is in the number of screws used to provide extra strength. There are twice as many screws fastening the mesh to the frame with a clip on cover on the inside to conceal the screws. This unique sealing system provides even more protection against intruders and environmental forces, with an internal clip-on cover that creates a sealed chamber to conceal and protect the screws. With a slim-line construction, which hides the fastening system from view, and curved profile, the aesthetic is sleek and elegant, enhancing the look of any home or business from the inside and out.

Custom made to suit your size requirements, Crimsafe Ultimate can be manufactured to a wide variety of applications to fit your home and lifestyle needs. Crimsafe Ultimate particularly suits larger openings as the bigger frame looks more proportionate.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know I'm getting genuine Crimsafe?

Stan Bond is a Crimsafe Authorised Licensee in South Australia and we supply Crimsafe. Genuine Crimsafe uses Crimsafe's own mesh and frame parts. Look for the Crimsafe label or badge on the screen. The badge shows its authenticity. If there is no badge, it is not a genuine Crimsafe product. You can also ask whether the mesh is held by a screw-clamp, and keep your invoice, which you need for any warranty claim.

Is Crimsafe better than the cheaper alternatives?

Crimsafe is often slightly more expensive than some of the other Stainless Steel products on the market, but it shows in the quality difference in the products. The Crimsafe patent made it difficult for competitor products to use the screw clamp technology which is the major point of difference. The method of holding the mesh into the frame gives the screen the strength to withstand real life attack. Compare the current test evidence for each complete product and its intended installation. A similar mesh appearance does not establish equivalent security performance.

What is the warranty for Crimsafe?

When you invest in Crimsafe, you invest in a stainless steel security screen system supplied by Stan Bond as a Crimsafe Authorised Licensee. The Crimsafe quality is backed by a 10 year warranty as a standard, with the option to extend to 12 years for Regular and Classic Crimsafe or 15 years for Crimsafe Ultimate. To extend your warranty, head to the Crimsafe website and register your product. For a Stan Bond warranty claim, see our warranty page.

What is the difference between Crimsafe First, Classic and Ultimate?

All three use 304-grade stainless-steel mesh in an aluminium frame. First uses 0.8 mm mesh with a visible screw-clamp and suits doors and window screens. Classic and Ultimate use 0.9 mm mesh with a covered clamp and are for doors only. Which suits you depends on the door size and style, which we confirm at your measure.

What is Crimsafe Classic?

Crimsafe Classic offers a smooth frame finish. Ask for current test information, finish options and installation requirements for the configuration proposed for your home.

What is Crimsafe Ultimate?

Crimsafe Ultimate is the top of the Crimsafe range, with added features that improve the modern look and increase the strength of the security screen. The key differences are in the greater number of screws fastening the mesh to the frame (twice as many), and the clip-on cover that conceals the screws. This not only gives the frame a smooth, sleek appearance, it provides greater protection from intruders and also corrosion. Crimsafe Ultimate is 40% stronger than the Crimsafe Regular product. It particularly suits large openings as the bigger frame looks more proportionate.

What colours are available for Crimsafe frames?

Crimsafe frames come in a wide range of standard colours to match or complement your home’s style. Custom colours are also available upon request. The standard range includes:

  • Black Satin
  • Primrose Gloss
  • Anodic Natural Matt
  • Paperbark Satin
  • Apo Grey Satin
  • Surfmist Satin
  • Classic Pearl White Gloss
  • Ultra Silver Gloss
  • White Birch Gloss
  • Dune Satin
  • Woodland Grey Satin
  • Monument Matt

With Crimsafe’s extensive colour selection, you’re sure to find the perfect shade to enhance your home’s appearance while providing superior security.

Can Crimsafe be fitted near the coast?

Yes, but coastal homes need the right specification. We recommend SS316 stainless-steel hinges within about 5 km of the coast, and Crimsafe sets extra care and warranty conditions for marine locations, including regular washing. Tell your consultant how close you are to the beach or a tidal waterway so the correct fittings are specified.

Can Crimsafe be used in a bushfire area?

We do not claim a BAL rating for any product. Whether a screen suits your property depends on the site and a report from an accredited fire engineer. Tell us about your site and we will point you to the right next step.

Find out more about bushfire safety: CFS bushfire safety and Adelaide Hills Council bushfire information.

Is Crimsafe pet-proof?

Crimsafe mesh is designed to be durable, but no screen should be described as pet-proof for every animal. Tell us if pets will use the door so we can discuss the suitable screen and any pet-door requirements separately.

Can you install a pet door in a Crimsafe hinged or sliding door?

A pet-door opening changes the security screen assembly and takes the screen outside its AS 5039 security classification. Do not assume the original security performance or warranty applies. Ask us to confirm the available configuration and written supplier guidance before deciding.

Can Crimsafe be cut?

Crimsafe’s Tensile-Tuff® mesh is made from incredibly strong stainless steel and is designed to resist cutting. It undergoes rigorous knife shear testing to ensure it can withstand attacks. While it might be possible to damage the mesh with specialised tools, it’s highly resistant to cutting with common tools like knives.

Does Crimsafe mesh rust or stain?

Crimsafe mesh is 304-grade stainless steel with a powder coat, so it does not rust like ordinary steel. Salt, moisture and airborne dirt can still leave reddish or white marks, and regular washing is part of the Crimsafe care guide and warranty conditions. Near the coast, cleaning matters even more. Send us a photo if you see marks.

What is a Safe-S-Cape window screen?

Safe-S-Cape is a Crimsafe window screen that opens from the inside without a key, so you can leave through the window in an emergency. It comes as hinged or inswing versions for several window types, and we confirm fit at measure. It does not replace advice on fire or egress requirements for your home.

What is PrivacyGuard, and is it Crimsafe?

PrivacyGuard is a perforated-aluminium privacy door: people outside see less into your home while you can still see out. It is built in a Crimsafe First frame but it is not a Crimsafe product, and it is a privacy barrier door rather than a security screen. It suits doors up to 1310 mm wide and 2510 mm high.

Can you put Crimsafe mesh into my existing screen door?

A standard flyscreen or another brand of door cannot be upgraded to Crimsafe simply by swapping its mesh. Crimsafe uses its own frame and mesh-retention system, so that change requires a complete Crimsafe screen door. If you already have a genuine Crimsafe door that needs repair, contact us with photos so we can assess it.

When should I book a Crimsafe measure for a new build?

You can enquire before handover, but tell us the stage of the build and how we can access the property. For the final measure, the doorway, frame and main door need to be in their finished state. A temporary construction door or later changes to the frame or handle can affect the fit. Confirm readiness with your builder before the appointment.
