Stan Bond's indoor blinds range includes roller blinds, vertical blinds, Veri Shades, Venetian blinds, Roman blinds, panel glide blinds, honeycomb cellular blinds, and Ziptrak Interior blinds. Most roller blinds on our in-house path are custom-made at our Salisbury South factory; selected finished roller options are partner-supplied. Honeycomb shades are partner-supplied made-to-measure products. Ziptrak Interior is an indoor track-guided product (not an outdoor Ziptrak or Zipscreen). We measure, quote and install for your openings.

Lead times depend on the product, fabric and supplier. As a rough guide, 3-4 weeks for internal blinds, 4-5 weeks for external blinds and curtains, and 8-12 weeks for Plantation Shutters (up to 14 over busy periods). We confirm a timeframe with your quote.

Blinds fitted inside the window recess leave small gaps at the sides so they can move freely, and that is normal. Wide roller blinds can also show slight ripples from the top tube. If darkness matters, tell us at the measure so we can plan around it rather than finding out after install.

Yes, a small gap is normal. A standard roller blind leaves roughly 16 mm of light at each side, depending on the controller, idler and brackets. Blockout fabric darkens a room but is not total blackout. If you need the darkest result, ask us about Ziptrak Interior, which uses side channels and a pelmet to give high blockout.

A combo, or dual, roller blind puts two roller blinds on one window, usually a sunscreen or light-filtering blind at the front and a blockout blind behind. Lower the front blind by day for glare and privacy, and the blockout in the evening. We measure the front and back of the reveal because reveals often splay.

Possibly. Sunscreen and sheer fabrics are translucent, so they soften glare and let you see out in daylight, but they are not designed to give privacy once lights are on. For evening privacy, layer a blockout blind behind, as in a dual blind, or choose a blockout fabric. We will recommend the right mix at your consultation.

Choose blinds without cords or chains. Easy Spring Air roller blinds move by the bottom rail, motorised blinds need no chain, and a wand motor uses a magnetic wand. Where a chain is used, Australian law requires a restraint if the chain hangs below 1.6 metres from the floor. We can show you options in the showroom.

Roman blinds tend to lengthen slightly over time as the pleats flatten, and inside a recess the chain ends up behind the fabric, which makes it awkward to use. Fitting on the face avoids both problems. We accept a small drop tolerance after hanging, and recommend soft or flock-back fabrics for the Standard style.

No. Venetians let you tilt and raise the slats to control light, privacy and glare, but light still passes between the slats and at the edges. Long venetians, over about two metres, often do not close tightly at the bottom. They also are not designed for being raised and lowered often, so we do not recommend them over doorways.

Centre-closing vertical blinds overlap very little where the two sides meet, and centre-closing Veri Shades leave an unavoidable gap of about 20 mm because of the split track. If privacy at the middle matters, choose a single-draw blind that stacks to one side. Reveals can also add small gaps at the ends.

Sometimes, but not automatically. Reveal depth and shutter winders can clash with a honeycomb blind, so we check before quoting. Sheer honeycomb fabric can deteriorate in full sun, so we steer sun-facing windows to a more suitable fabric. Tell us the room, the aspect and your shutter details, and we will confirm what fits.

Often, yes. For many roller blinds a battery motor can replace the chain winder without changing the brackets. Motor strength depends on blind size and weight, and linked or heavy blinds need a stronger motor. Send us photos of the blind, the control end and any labels, and we will confirm what suits.

Yes, within limits. Roller blinds over about 3 metres use a heavier system, and very wide blinds will not sit perfectly flat: expect some ripples and V-shaped waves, more noticeable when light hits the fabric from the side. Linked blinds on one control or a motor can make wide openings easier to use.
