3M The Best In Technology
Live Comfortably.
Installing 3M Window Film in your home can improve security, and control the South Australian heat, glare and ultraviolet light entering your room. A security door covers the whole opening, so you can open the main door and look out before you are exposed. Window film does not do that. It can help stop the glass being smashed, including a side light used to reach the lock, but it is not a security door. Window film will help your home feel more comfortable, and includes some of the most amazing technology in the Stan Bond range.
3M is a world leader in window film options, unique window protection systems and their advanced bonding adhesives.

Frequently asked questions
Window film: does it work on double glazing?
Not always. On some double-glazed or complex glass, film can raise the risk of cracking, so we check the glass type, thickness and gap first. Where a job is outside what we can safely assess, we will say so and may suggest a film specialist.
Window film: is it a security product?
Security film holds glass together and can slow an attack, but it does not make a window break-in proof: a whole pane can still be pushed in if the frame gives way. For real protection against forced entry, ask about our security screens and doors.
Will security film stop a break-in?
Security film helps hold broken glass together, which can slow entry, but it does not prevent it: a whole filmed pane can still be forced out of its frame. Where entry is the concern, a Crimsafe screen fixed inside the door frame adds a physical barrier that deters forced entry. A consultant can advise on both options.
Does window film make my windows secure?
No. Window film can help hold broken glass together, but it does not make a window secure, and a determined intruder can still push a filmed pane through its frame. If security is your goal, a Crimsafe screen or door is the better choice, and we can compare options with you. Film suits other jobs, such as heat control, glare control or privacy.
Can window film go on double-glazed windows?
Not always, and not without checking. Film can add heat stress to glass, so we need to know the glass type and thickness, the gap, any gas fill, the aspect and the film type before recommending it. For complex or double-glazed glass we may refer you to a film specialist rather than risk your glass.
Can existing window film be cut down?
No. Trimming film in place with a knife can lift it from the glass along the cut, and the lift grows on hot days. The reliable fix is to remove and replace the film. Tell us what you have, the glass size and what you want to change, and we will advise.
Will film keep my room much cooler without changing how the window looks?
Film can reduce heat and glare, but it cannot deliver a large temperature drop with no change in appearance. Stronger heat control usually means a more tinted or reflective look. We choose the film for your glass and aspect, and we will say so honestly if film is not the right answer for your goal.
What is the difference between heat-control film and safety film?
Heat-control (sun control) films are designed to reduce heat and glare, and some are almost clear. Safety films are thicker, layered films designed to hold glass fragments together if the glass breaks. Some products combine both. A safety film does not make a window secure, and each film needs to suit your glass.
What types of window film do you offer?
We supply and install 3M window film for sun and heat control, climate control, safety, frosted privacy and decorative uses, and anti-graffiti protection. Which film suits you depends on your glass, the room and what you want to achieve. A consultant can measure up and recommend options.
Should I put film on windows with timber blinds or shutters?
Consider it for sun-facing windows. Dark stained timber blinds and shutters can fade and discolour in direct sun, and that is not covered by warranty. Heat-reducing film on the glass can slow fading, but it cannot stop it. We will say which film suits your window and whether film is worthwhile for your product.
