FIXED PANELS FOR GAPS AND OPENINGS IN OUTDOOR STRUCTURES

Fixed infill panels fill a gap or opening in an outdoor structure, such as the side of a pergola or verandah. The panel stays in place. It cannot be raised, lowered or opened. Shade mesh, clear PVC and tinted PVC are the usual materials. If you need to open the gap for weather or access, use an operable outdoor blind instead, such as Ziptrak outdoor blinds, Zipscreen blinds or wire guided straight drop blinds.

Material, fixing and exposure affect shelter, airflow and UV performance. Fixed panels do not create a sealed or storm-proof room.

Design choices

At Stan Bond, we have a wide range of high-quality materials and fabrics to choose from – including shade mesh, and clear or tinted PVC. Fixed Infill Panels are customised to suit your requirements, with track on all sides or on three sides with a tube in a pocket along the bottom.

A choice of powder-coated colours for all side tracks is available.

Features and benefits

Fixed panels can finish an outdoor opening where a moving blind is not practical. Choose the material to balance view, ventilation and shelter, and confirm access for cleaning.

Style

Match the panel fabric and frame to the surrounding outdoor blinds and structure. The fixing arrangement depends on the shape and construction of the opening.

Light Diffusion

While fixed infill blinds cannot be adjusted, they can still provide a degree of light diffusion. Depending on the material and design, they can filter and soften incoming sunlight, with privacy and UV performance depending on the material, lighting and installation.

Privacy

While fixed infill blinds may not offer adjustable privacy like traditional blinds, they can still provide a level of visual privacy, especially when used in combination with other window treatments or architectural features.

Low Maintenance

Since fixed infill blinds are stationary and do not have moving parts, they require minimal maintenance. Regular dusting or cleaning is usually sufficient to keep them looking their best.
