A Guide to Hamptons-Inspired Curtains

What the Hamptons look is

Hamptons style takes its cues from the beachside houses of Long Island, New York. The rooms are usually bright, in whites, creams and soft blues, with classic shapes and a few coastal details. Curtains in that kind of room stay light in colour so the space still reads as open.

Textured linen-look fabrics

Cloths used for this look include NETTEX’s Bali and Warwick’s Genoa. Both have a textured linen look. The texture adds some depth while the cloth stays plain enough for a white, cream or soft-blue room. More on choosing curtain fabrics.

Light and sheer curtains

These rooms rely on daylight. Sheer curtains let light through and keep the window part of the room. NETTEX’s Bali and Warwick’s Genoa are light-filtering sheers, so soft daylight still comes in. That suits a bright room, including houses on the Adelaide coast.

Classic shape with a coastal palette

The look uses classic interior cues with coastal colours. A traditional curtain can carry a plain linen-look cloth when the furniture is already classic. A simpler modern curtain fits when the room is light and plain.

Lower care than real linen

Real linen asks for more care. NETTEX Bali and Warwick Genoa are both polyester linen-look sheers, not real linen, so follow the care label for your chosen fabric. That is the practical side of the style.
